    1. JOSEPH EMMANUEL SMITH
    2. Edward Manigault
    3. Well, I guess it's time to try again for information about my great grandfather. JOSEPH E. SMITH was born 1825 in La Grange, died in 1898 and is buried in a rural (Smith family?) cemetery near Schulenburg. His lineage is a mystery to me. He served in Company B, 3rd Regiment, Texas Cavalry, C.S.A. He married PRUDENCE ISABELLA MURCHISON (1835-1897) abt. 1856 in La Grange. She bore him nine children, at least one of who (Magus) became a well-known lawyer in Texas. Does anyone have information about his ancestry and background? Edward Manigault

    1. Contribute your photographs
    2. Hi, everyone. I invite you to contribute scans of your old photographs to the Fayette County TXGenWeb site. It's a good way to get your e-mail address and the names you are researching in a prominent place. There were 544 searches at the Fayette County site in April alone. If you have unidentified photos taken by a Fayette county photographer, I'll put those online, too. Rox Ann Johnson Fayette County TXGenWeb Project
