Surnames: Bittick Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mkB.2ACI/361 Message Board Post: I would like to get a photo of the tombstones of Willis Alexander Bittick and his wife Winniferd Cromwell. Winniferd died of natural causes in 1889 while her husband was shot in the neck and died two weeks later in 1901. A friend of his came up from behind and goosed him while he was washing off in a water trough. A fight erupted and other parties got involved. When Willis went for a knife, one of two "third" parties that were trying to stop the fight fired a shot that struck him in the neck. I have the newspaper clippings but do not have a photo of the large tombstone that was erected. Winnie was my Great Aunt so he was my Great Uncle. Thanks. Charles Nahlik -

    2. Maybe I am wrong! The high cheek bones on that one boy sure looks like it could be my Father! The other boy is named Charles (Buddy)Rother. If you can't read the names, let me know and I will try to send them to you. The little bitty Blonde in the 3rd. row is my Aunt; Lurline Hoermann (Weshinskey)----Looks just like her Grandaughter!

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mkB.2ACI/359.1.1 Message Board Post: If there are other pieces of his furniture still around, they might be in the Baumgarten house in Schulenburg. I was young when I visited the house, so I can't remember what is in there. I also read that there was a Baumgarten furniture factory in Schulenburg in the late 1800s. Perhaps one of the museums in Schulenburg might have some. Sorry I can't be of more help. I plan of visiting Schulenburg at some time in the near future. Maybe I'll know more after that trip.

    2. In a message dated 5/31/2005 4:02:40 PM US Mountain Standard Time, billeckfamily@yahoo.com writes: John J. Kovar married to Annie Krupa children listed in census: Joseph John, Ernie, Henry, Louis Rudolf, Albina, & Robert Anyone else have them in their tree? Do you know where the Kovar family came from? I have a record showing an "Anna KOWAR" (pronounced "Kovar") married to Christoph Tschornack (spelled "Schornack" in the US). She was born 28 April 1764 and died 19 August 1813. She was the second wife of Christoph Tschornack, who was born 7 March 1732 in Dürrbach, Sachsen, and died 21 March 1800 in the same village. The two were married 9 January 1793. We photographed these records from the membership records books in Klitten, Germany. The village of Dürrbach is about a mile or two from Klitten, and the people of Dürrbach were baptized, married and buried by the pastor of the Klitten church. Christoph and Anna had two children that I found records for - twin daughters born in October 1798, one of whom was stillborn, and the other named Anna Tschornack. Martha Prince
