TX. I don't know what became of his brother James but his brother John did live with William and his wife Martha until he died as a young man, not much more than a teenager. Their mother, according to W.A. Cowan's death certificate was Mary Moreland and father was Marion Cowan. They were from TN then GA before coming to TX in 1870. They, William, James and John were in Farmersville, Collin County, in the household of an Ann Reed/Reid (have no idea who she was) on the 1870 census. I sure wish I could help more, I wish I knew more! I have yet to find Marion Cowan anywhere. Good luck, Linda
