Mckinney,,,Hardin Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/1hB.2ACE/288.287 Message Board Post: There was a rev.James Gipson Hardin, Living Near Collin Mckinney, His son John Wes.Hardin.became a minister,and Lawyer, while in prison, I am related to both familys, as they left Montgomer county,Arkansas,1842 to homestead land in red river country, in Texas, John Wes was born a neighbor to Collin Mckinney,1853, Check the Arkansas 1830,& 1840 census for Rev James, and his brothers, & uncles, also check for Mckinneys, and Meeks, these clans traveled together, Rev James Hardins sister ,,Mary Jane (Hardin) Meeks wqs my Dads great grandmother,( I am 75 yrs.old now.Wm.Wes.and Cisily Hardin, mary janes mom & dad Raised my Grandpa,Wm,Wes. And Cisily Meeks,In Montgomery County, Arkansas,1840s & 1850s, Mary Jane died in childbirth, when My Grandad Wm.Wes.Meeks was born in Marshal County,Tenn, The kids named after Mary Janes Parents, John Wes Hardin was released from prison,1894, and came back here with J.W.Taylor.to visit the folks here. J.W Taylor married my Dads sister, Nancy Ann ! Meeks, On record in Montgomery Co,Ark,Records.1894. Taylo and Nancy got divorce, and Taylor went back to Texas to join back in with the Taylor clan there, I still have relatives at Mckinney,Collin County,Texas, formed out of part of Fannin County Texas, A lot of folks moved to Arkansas waiting for the Texas farmland to be let for Homesteading, You might find many familys listed here that most researchers overlook,,,they got lost in Ark. & Texas,,,,,Colonel A.T.Mckinney furnished John Wes Hardin with law books to study while in Texas Prison, We also had Relatives in Limestone County Alabama, James and Delillah Mckinney early settlers there were my Dads Great Grandparents, documented through wills etc.
