Cowan age 24 HH in the 1880 Census of Fannin County, Precinct 6. He was born NC, parents born NC. His wife was listed as Jane S.age 21 born Texas. They had a one year old son, James C. Cowan. Also in the household is listed Thomas Cowan age 30, brother, laborer, b. NC, parents born NC. Linda, I had hoped we were of the same family, but I don't think our William A. Cowan's are the same person. But I need help from anyone who knows of this family. W. A. was born 1855/56/57 Rutherford Co. NC. Don't know his wife, Janes S.'s maiden name.
