    3. Nell, No, my Armstrong's came from the border of Scotland/England to PA to OH to OK. I do know there were some southern branches that started in the Carolina's from Ireland/Scotland and some came from PA/NY south also. Sorry, I don't have any Shugarts in my database. Several of these Armstrongs married Shugarts. Could this possibly be the line you are researching? The Mitchell (Mertle) that went to Grayson County married a Williamson and she was born in 1881. My best guess is she probably won't show up in Grayson County until around the turn of the century. She and George Mitchell, a half-brother, are the only ones who stayed in Texas, all the others went to Oklahoma. I believe George resided in around Bonham and/or Paris, TX most of his life. Actually all I remember about George's family is that he had a daughter named Kaye. > Again thanks for your response, > Jim Armstrong > > Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. > Checked by Symantec-Norton Anti-Virus 2002 > ----- Original Message ----- > From: Robert L Taylor > To: TXFANNIN-L@rootsweb.com > Sent: Friday, October 11, 2002 6:07 AM > Subject: [TXFANNIN-L] Re: James Mitchell > > > There are 2 by the name of James Mitchell, in 1880, Grayson CO, Tx: > > 1880 Census Place: District 16, Precinct 8, Grayson, Texas > Source: FHL Film 1255307 National Archives Film T9-1307 > Page 399C > Relation Sex Marr Race Age Birthplace > James MITCHELL Self M M W 46 AL > Occ: Farmer Fa: AL Mo: GA > Margaret MITCHELL Wife F M W 38 VA > Occ: Keeps House Fa: VA Mo: VA > James MITCHELL Son M S W 16 MO > Occ: Works On Farm Fa: AL Mo: VA > John MITCHELL Son M S W 14 MO > Occ: At Home Fa: AL Mo: VA > Sally MITCHELL Dau F S W 12 MO > Occ: At School Fa: AL Mo: VA > Louis MITCHELL Son M S W 11 MO > Occ: At School Fa: AL Mo: VA > Molly MITCHELL Dau F S W 10 MO > Occ: At Home Fa: AL Mo: VA > Lotta MITCHELL Dau F S W 8 MO > Fa: AL Mo: VA > Potter MITCHELL Son M S W 4 INDIAN NATION > Fa: AL Mo: VA > Clara MITCHELL Dau F S W 2 TX > Fa: AL Mo: VA > Charles MITCHELL Son M S W 3M TX > Fa: AL Mo: VA > > 1880 Census Place: Precinct 1, Grayson, Texas > Source: FHL Film 1255306 National Archives Film T9-1306 > Page 107A > Relation Sex Marr Race Age Birthplace > Jim MITCHELL Self M M W 26 GA > Occ: Farmer Fa: NC Mo: GA > Mary MITCHELL Wife F M W 20 GA > Occ: Keeping House Fa: SC Mo: GA > Elmer J.
