Thanks, that may explain why I can't find him on the 1890 census. His obit says he "died at his late residence in the extreme northeast corner of this county". He is said to have died in Dec. 1892. Maybe he was missed by the census taker or maybe he is listed on the Lamar census. Will have to check this out further.
