Hammill & Co." with 5 acres, $100 horse and $1,000 worth of merchandise. In county deed book G, p. 78 he sells to a Stephen R. Sewell et al and in Book H, pg. 610 to a Davis & Johnson. I m seeking him in case he is kin to my gggrandpa John Newton Hamil b. 1808 probably Tn. JHN appears first in 1835 in Haywood Co., Tn. as a Methodist minister, marries Mary Ann Farris/Faires b. Lauderdale Co., Ala 1819 and they move to Texas by Nov. 1841 to Fannin Co. JNH dies in 1852 in Ellis Co. probably on ministry trip. Wife continued to live in Fannin. Many thanks!
