I think you might be related to former Governor Preston Smith and he has an office at the univeristy in Lubbock, Txeas, I think it is Texas Tech. Someone should be able to help you with it. I had some Smiths who lived in Fannin County but I think your bunch is related to the former governor of Texas Preston Smith!
