You are right on the "money"....!!!!! I made contact with researcher Zoe Smith a few days ago and your ID of the Lawson's is correct! Following the identification that John Franklin LAWSON was the "half-uncle" of John Aaron NUNNALLY, I was able to prove John Aaron's parents and 5 of his brothers. John Aaron's obituary refers to 2 sisters as well but I don't have their names yet. Also, John Aaron NUNNALLY married Audrey [SHEPARD] abt 1907. Audrey was the daughter of a George SHEPARD and Lavina [unknown] who are shown as married with no children on the 1880 Fannin Co TX census. By 1900, Levina is widowed. Re the 1870 census (copy below), this is John Howard LAWSON and his 2nd wife Martha Minerva [DAVIS] : they married abt 1865 in Panola Co MS. 1870 Hunt Co TX/Greenville/HH 347-343/pg 327a (10 Oct 1870) Lawson, Jno H /HH/wm age 35 Ms LAWSON, Martha M /wf age 28 Ms Lawson, Wm H /wm age 17 Ms Lawson, James E /wm age 15 Ms Lawson, Kate E /wf age 13 Ms Lawson, Walter C /wm age 11 Lawson, Orah A /wf age 09 Ms Lawson, Danl J /wm age 08 Ms Lawson, Harry /wm age 04 Ms Lawson, Alice /wf age 02 Ms **HARRIS, Edie E /wf age 09 MS Edie [HARRIS] age 09 MS is John Aaron's mother and his father is John Daniel NUNNALLY son of Judge Aaron Ellis NUNNALLY and Catherine [GRAY] who died in Shelby Co AL in the early 1860's. I have not proven who Edie (actually it's Eddie) Harris' parents are..... it would seem that she is the daughter of Martha Minerva [DAVIS] by a previous marriage BUT she could be a niece or cousin of either Martha Minerva [DAVIS] or John Howard LAWSON .or just an orphan....... Eddie [HARRIS] and John Daniel NUNNALLY married by 1878 as their first known child, William Ellis NUNNALLY was born 04 Nov 1878 either in Hunt or Fannin Co TX. I wish I could find their marriage record ! They are shown on the 1880 Fannin Co TX with William as their only child but I suspect that there was another child born after this census and before John Aaron was born 12 Jul 1882...... I have found John Daniel NUNNALLY and his sons on all of the censuses except 1900 and this is a critical census not to have! I have searched TX, Indian Territory and Oklahoma Territory every conceivable way I can think of using just partial given and partial surname with wild cards, soundex, just age and birth place, etc etc and come up with zilch so far.
