Two buggies were pulled up together, Walter and his wife in one, George Bennett and Florence Williams in the other. A preacher conducted the double ceremony under an umbrella. The two couples shared a two story house for the first year of their marriages. One of Walter' nephews is Bobby Cox, manager of the Atlanta Braves.
