Thank you so much for posting these obituaries! I am the volunteer who is walking and indexing the Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove. [It is almost complete, folks!] I've been typing obits on days that are too hot or wet to walk and index but I'm excited every time I find one already typed for me! Thank you. Keep 'em coming! Hi Suzie, thank you so much for your volunteering to walk the Oakwood Cemetery. If you come across anything on a William York I would appreciate if you could let me know. I haven't found anything on him on any of the other online transcriptions. I know he was in Fannin County in 1900 due to census and his CSA pension application and believe he must have died shortly after that as I cannot find anything in the Texas death index for him or anywhere else after 1900. Thank you so much. Carol ----- Original Message ----- From: "Suzie Henderson" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, September 11, 2007 8:17 PM Subject: Re: [TXFANNIN] obit of G. These are my only YORK surnames so far in the Oakwood Cemetery. I still have one more of the older sections to go. We'll see. Is this your man?? Page 5; York, William M (26); Y; Nineteenth Cavalry (Burford's Regiment); Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations from the State of Texas<http://www.footnote.com/viewer.php?image=8484549&query=york> There are 5 pages of his Confederate Service record online at http: www.footnote.com They are also posting [note; I didn't say "already posted"] the Texas Death certificates. [YES, I did say certificates and they are beautiful] from 1890 to 1976 but only 2% are already online. Your William YORK is not yet listed but keep checking back. Hope this helps.
