Many thanks. It looks like you hit the mother lode. This is a wealth of information. Naturally, I will do more verifying, but what you have given to me seems to fit. The part about Bud Nolen being a gambler and a prisoner fits with some stories that my father used to tell me about the family. It seems that Bud's father was the only person that Bud feared. I had some hint that Thomas Nolen was in law enforcment and that he was a marshall. Whether he was a town marshall or a U.S. marshall I did not know. The short version is Thomas brought Bud in under arrest and jailed him. The other info in your posting fills in some holes I had about the other members of the family including two other children that Louisa Nolen had that I did not know about. If you hear of anyone that is researching this branch I have other info on Thomas Nolen's sibblings. Please send them my way. Thomas Nolen's relation to me is he is my great-grand uncle.
