I don't really have any info, but I have that Robert Wylie Trout, b. 1812 Georgia, married Elizabeth Caroline Johnson in 1847, and were the parents of James N. Trout, who m. Rachel Parsons, they were the parents of Walter Lee Trout. I have further info in my gen. files at home, but I am away, and just looking at what is accessible online in my rootsweb world connect gedcom. This Robert Wylie Trout was the son of James Trout (1785) who was the son of George Trout Jr (1755). James (1755) was the brother of Gideon Trout (1790), who was the father of Giles Trout (1813), Perry Green Trout (1815), Oliver Henderson (OH) Trout (1820)& Benjamin Franklin Trout (1823)... who are found in Fannin Co. The Robert Trout (1812) that James Benson (1835) and his wife Mary (Trout?) (1842) are living next door to in 1870 Fannin Co., is most assuredly Robert Wylie Trout (and the 1870 census has a lot more children than I have, but it does include James b. 1852, which i believe is the sam! e as the James who m. Rachel Parsons (above). Going back to 1860 Cherokee Co., Georgia, this family of Robert Trout (1812) does NOT have a daughter named Mary (b. 1842)... SO... Mary Trout Benson living next door to Robert Trout in 1870 Fannin Co., is probably NOT his daughter. I find your James Benson in 1880 Cooke Co., TX with wife Mary (b. 1859 tx) & 3 children, Alice (1871), Ed (1873) & Robert (1875). In this census, James Benson is listed as 33 years old (b. 1847), and the on in 1870 census, the James Benson next door to Robert Trout, is listed as b. 1835.... I find your James Benson again in 1900 Cooke Co., TX, and it looks like his birthdate is 1844. This discrepancy in ages doesn't prove a thing, as you can't count on them being even CLOSE!
