My great grandmother Iva May Benson had notes that list a Mary Trout as the first wife of James M. Benson. They had three children (Alice, Ed, and Robert Marion), and she died in childbirth ca. 1878. She lists as Mary's birthplace "Marysville, TX," though this may be incorrect. Marysville would have been in Cooke County. I see a James Benson married to Mary in Fannin County census of 1870 next door to Robert Trout. Have you run across my James Benson or Mary Trout in your research?
