Your best bet would be a tombstone or, perhaps a probate record. The Texas Death Records up through 1976, though imperfect, are online and can be accessed here: http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start I recently completed walking and indexing the Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove and found no Brashears tombstones by any spelling. None are listed in the interment records (also not perfect) either. Oakwood is the primary cemetery in the Honey Grove area. Wish I had better news....
