Census with Mother, Tennie Smith, and step-father, Phillip (Dock) Smith, and his 3 younger half sisters, Gertrude Smith, Della Smith, and Georgia Smith. This Census shows Fred b. in 1879. Keep in mind, the birth dates and birth states, may be different. Tennie,s name was Tennessee Hardin(Burnett)(Smith). Fred had been married for 2 years on this census to Allie? Tennie shows she has had 5 children, with 4 living, and she and Dock had been married for 18 years. I found Georgia Smith died Jul 30,1964 in Grayson Co. Tx, who is Fred,s half sister. buried in Oak Wood Cemetery, in Dennison, Tx. and marriage record for Dock Smith and Tenny Burnett on Feb.5, 1881 in Fannin Co. Tx. When calling for marriage licence let them know this is African American, as back then, Fannin Co Tx. keep the books seperated by race. You can find this Census and Death cert at the LDS. Hope this helps and good luck. Bryghtstar http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
