None of the local libraries have newspapers back that far. The Sam Rayburn Library has one roll of microfilm of some isolated issues of some papers from the 1880s but they were rat chewed and missing large chunks even before they were filmed. You best bet is to check http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov/search/titles/ to see what newspapers for Fannin County were are available on Microfilm for that time period and see about ordering a roll of film through interlibrary loan. You did not specify what towns your ancestors lived in or near, so I could not narrow your choices further...but you will have the option on the site. Most likely, you will find some possibilities either at the University of Texas Libraries or the Panhandle Museum in West Texas. http://chroniclingamerica.loc.gov is a site maintained by the Library of Congress listing what newspapers they are aware of which are available nation wide. (Always check locally yourself because the Library of Congress doesn't know everything.) Texas is one of the few states which already has some newspaper pages search able on the site... but I've already given McArthur a shot for that time period and got nothing.
