Suzie Mrs. Mayfield died Sunday, May 9, 2010 in Longview, Texas. *Mrs. Gloria Jean Briley Mayfield* was born December 9, 1940 in Winters, Runnels County, Texas as the daughter of Myrtle Best Wood and Robert Lee Briley, Sr. Mrs. Mayfield was retired from the Kroger company, later retiring from Sams after eight years of service and was the owner of Glory Bee Creations. She received her degree from Panola College in Computer Information Systems and a degree in Applied Science from the California College for Health Sciences, majoring in Medical Transcription and Computers Information Systems.Gloria Married Mr. Wlmer A. “Red” Mayfield May 29, 1972 and celebrated 35 years together until he preceded her in death on August 6, 2007. Gloria was a seventeen year member and officer of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Thomas J. Rusk Chapter, The United Daughters of The Confederacy, The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, Longview, The National Society of Colonial Dames XVII Century, and The Magna Charter Dames. She was also a member of the Texas Genealogy Association and was an Accredited Genealogist of the American College of Genealogists. She had written several books about her family ancestors. She was active in the TX GenWeb, served from 1999-2000 as the SW/SC CC Rep, USGenWeb Advisory Board and web mistress of the Cemeteries of TX, TX Surnames, and numerous county websites. Mrs. Mayfield was a member of the Women Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, The American Legion Women Auxiliary, and the Auxiliary of the Disabled Veterans Association. She was Past Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star, Henderson Chapter No. 597, and an endowed member of Carthage, Chapter No 747. She was of the Baptist Faith, currently member of the Bar None Cowboy Church in Tatum. Gloria is preceded in death by her parents, husband; son, Glen Gregg Goza, II; daughter, Linda Mayfield Jennings and brothers: Robert Jr., Ted and Jimmye Briley; Mike Briley; sister, Betty Webb; brother-in-laws, Jim Webb and Jimmy Shipman; granddaughter, Wendy Warner Mrs. Mayfield is survived by her daughters, Briley M. Dailey and husband Billy Charles, Jr. of Beckville, Glynna D. Reser and husband Kevin of Boerne, June Grattan, Ruth Parker and husband Lance, Sandra Garcia, Deborah Gilotte and husband Rick; son-in-law, Steve Jennings; grandchildren, Morgan and Billy Charles Dailey, II of Beckville and Kristal and Travis Wayne Reser of Boerne, Misty Watson and husband Robert, Jerome’ Anderson, Jennifer Biorge and husband Dusty, Jande’ La’Ulu and husband Kark, Jarel Anderson and Steven Grattan, Jimmy Wanner and wife Jill, Alan Parker, Sabrina, Marsial, Mandel and Sasha Garcia, Janice Vanover and husband Adam and Jake Jones. Gloria is also survived by her brother, Mike Briley of Pierre, South Dakota and sister, Jackie Shipman of Stephenville. Great grandchildren, Madyson Dailey, landing Watson, Corbin and Ressie Wanner, Cipher La’Ulu, William and Skylar Garcia, Dwaine Garcia, Shalee Basden, Lazariae Mayes, Persefanie Garcia, Cohen and Daxton Anderson, Katelyn Anderson, Brooklyn, Gabriel and Thor Biorge. * Viewing:* 6:00 p.m., Wed., May 12, 2010 at Hawthorn Funeral Home. *Family will receive friends: * 6-8:00 p.m. Wednesday
