To make the census transcription project at http://files.usgwarchives.org/tx/fannin/census/ even more useful, I have converted it into GEDCOM files, which can be imported into any genealogy software (open a new folder!) and read by a variety of utilities. These free files are a finding aid for the transcription work. The note for each person contains the URL of the exact file where he or she is listed.
