    3. Back in the 1970's Fay Lovelace of Bonham, Texas was gathering Starnes information and typed a small Starnes Genealogy. Margaret Starnes who was b. 01 Sep 1834 in MS (probably Choctaw County), daughter of Jacob Starnes and Jane Russell, married Mose Echols in MS (probably Choctaw or Webster County). Mose was dead by 1870 and according to Fay Lovelace he had been murdered. We are unsure where this murder occurred or if in fact it really did occur. We are also unsure when Margaret moved to Fannin County. At least one of her brothers was there as early as February, 1870, when he married in Fannin County, but another didn't arrive until 1880. We do know that on 13 Dec 1874 Margaret married Reuben Blakely in Fannin County, TX. She died in 1898 and is buried in Brown Cemetery in Fannin Co., TX. We would be interested in anything that anyone could tell us about this family. Margaret and Mose had three children, John Echols (who according to Fay had a large family), Mary "Mollie Echols who married John Whitley and had one son Dick, and Nan Echols who married Bill Trout and lived in the Oakland Community north of Bonham for many years. To the best of our knowledge, she and Reuben Blakely did not have any children. We would love to hear from anyone related to any of these families.
