    3. I just noted the name Dinwiddie and realized which cemetery... it is Oakwood Cemetery IN Honey Grove. I had checked my record earlier to day and had seen the name Dinwiddie used as a middle name...but no Kavenaugh.... I have recently completed a new inventory of Oakwood cemetery and can confirm there is no tombstone for Kavenaugh or Elizabeth. Next time I'm out there, I can look to see if there are possible unmarked graves nearby. My Grandfather was Lincoln Lee Riggs, my Grandmother was Iva Lorraine Frost. They were neighbors in I believe either New york or Pennsylvania as youths, Grandpa was a farmer, Grandma fell in love with his blue eyes and head of black curly hair. Both were devout Christians. Susan was I think a niece of my grandma's, She was a nurse. I recall a photo of her in cap. Very pretty, and Grandma always admired her. I carry on the middle name of Lorraine which was, very importantly, passed down thru centuries...My brother has a daughter, Seychelle Lorraine. I have only a Son, Travis Lee Asch, who , against the odds of brown eyed parents, inherited Grandpas eyes. I am 50 years old now. My Grandparents were the most admirable and influential people in my life due to their devotion to God, their strong work ethic, and their kindnesses. They had Sons, David, My Father, and Keith, estranged unfortunately. Another attribute I have Inherited ! is a green thumb and a love for plants and agriculture, I am a Florist. Also Grandpa , ( and my Dad David ) loved to work on cars. Enter my Son, Travis Lee. He is a brilliant artist and constantly tinkles with cars, and he is good with plants too. Grandma had exceptional interior design skills, she was a consumate cook...Enter myself, my Dad and Travis again... It is so amazing to see the the gene pool at work... Any info about my family would be LOVED... Please email me... stacyasch@peoplepc.com Thank You and, of course, God Bless You abundantly. 3. Suzie, No problem. I found the original sites and pages. I figured they existed somewhere. Thanks you for all the work you are doing. I have a web page about historical flags with about 218,000 hits. I used to get 2-3 hits per day. On Sept 12, 2001, my hit counter shot up to over 150 hits per day. Taking care of 50-100 page is 'sort of fun'. Taking care of all your pages is impossible without some help as you stated. Your question led me to a link by random chance that resolved an issue on the Gunters of Texas. I thought Abner Gunter died and had no clue he was the actual one that remarried to Phoebe G Mabry and then died. I thought he died in Wood County in the mid 1850s and Phoebe married another Gunter brother. Thanks for the indirect 'help' and successful resolution of one more piece in the extended Gunter family I have researched for decades. I was just checking the links to see if they had a problem for you. I typed in Gunter just by accident and random chance. You said you didn't have an index. Well, your non-index site search did wonders for family history of Abner Gunter, Phoebe Mabry, and Henche P. Mabry. Your secret site search worked for me! 1. [TXFANNIN] Abner Gunter reference in Fannin Texas.
    2. Beaurega
    3. Hi, I found this Abner Gunter reference while searching the Fannin County, Texas site. http://www.txfannin.org/book/souvenir/s563.html It says, "Phoebe (Maby), married Abner Gunter, and (he) died during the Civil War, leaving a daughter. Henche P(arham). Mabry educated himself", etc. So this is the marriage of Phoebe Mabry Gunter listed in Wood County, TX in 1860. She and her mother, Linea/Lynea Stallings of GA, were the in-laws of the Lemuel Gunter and Rebecca Williams family and this means that Phoebe Mabry Gunter was not married to Lintus/Lentis Gunter or S.C. Gunter. Well, I knew she was a daughter-in-law. The daughter above would be Ada Gunter born in 1858. So Abner Gunter married again before the Civil War started and Abner fathered Ada. So Abner was married in the 1850s probably in Wood County to Teressa Jane Varner and she died soon after the marriage in 1855 in Wood County. However, it looks like Abner lived into the 1860s and was in the Civil War and died there. However, after Teressa Jane Varner died, he married Phoebe / Phebe Mabry and this would explain why Jesse Lemuel Gunter married or met Emma Carter in Fannin Texas in January, 1875. It suggests that Abner Gunter even lived into the 1870s and Jesse was visiting him. Phoebe G. Mabry was born in Carroll Co, GA in 1838. Her dad is Henche P. Mabry Sr. of Carroll County and the bio talks about Abner married to daughter Phoebe Mabry. Linnia Williams is very interesting. I have her as a Stallings. Could she be a sister of Rebecca Williams that married Lemuel Gunter July 3, 1824 in NC? The Gunters are in Heard Co, GA in 1850. If I believe this account, it appears that Linea Stallings was a married name and Williams was her birth surname. Abner is not in the 1860 Wood County census with the other Gunters. If he was in the Civil War and died there, then he was alive in the 1860 census probably in Texas somewhere. Linea Stallings Mabry was born in 1800 according to the 1860 Wood County, TX census. Was Abner Gunter in the Third Texas Cav with H. P. Mabry? No. Was Abner Gunter in the Civil War? He is not listed in the Sailor and Soldiers roster site. All A. "x" Gunters were confirmed as Addison Yancey Gunter. I doubt Abner was missed as a soldier that died in the Civil War but maybe. He also is not in the 1860 Texas census anywhere in Texas under Gunter. He is not the Gunter in Nacogdoches. he is not in Wood County with his parents or siblings but Phebe G. Mabry Gunter and her daughter are. Does anyone know what happened to Abner Gunter, brother of William Washington, Addison Yancy, Jesse Lemuel, Joseph Harper, Jot, Ike J., etc., Gunter? Wouldn't it be strange if "Linnia / Linea Williams" was the daughter of Levin Williams of NC? Does anyone have more infomation on Henchia / Henche P. Mabry Sr., his family, and descendants? 3. Hi Suzie, This is not a personal atack on you or anyone on this list. This is constructive feedback YOU ASKED FOR. The home page looks good in Firefox 2.0.0.20 and IE 6. However, when you go here on this link, there is a difference (or the Presley link). http://wilson-moore.com/TXfannin/cemeteries.php It looks fine in Firefox but the left part of the page is overwritten in IE 6. I tried the PREFACE page link. It was displayed fine. I tired the index page 1 to Biographical Souvenir of the State of Texas. Page 1 was displayed fine in Firefox with the surname Abernathy at the top of the page. Under it is the default page for Souvenirs of the State of Texas also labeled as page 1. The default page starts out with "member of the Baptist Church". http://wilson-moore.com/TXfannin/book_souvenir.php?type_PG=Index&page_ID=1 I clicked on the page 6 link and that index page was displayed fine as page 6 but below it again was the default "sample" page which was also improperly labeled as page 6. http://wilson-moore.com/TXfannin/book_souvenir.php?type_PG=Index&page_ID=6 This appeared to be a problem but I think it would be nice to be able to display an index page above or below the page you are researching instead of opening a new tab in FireFox. 3. Thanks for the helpful feedback. I thought we had taken care of all the IE6 problems. ALL of the Biographical Souvenir pages on the "secret site" at Wilson-Moore are sample pages and not the real links. That's why it's not an official site and still a "secret". The Biographical Souvir is ALL linked to the Real Pages at http://www.txfannin.org and more specifically at: http://www.txfannin.org/book/index.html The Fannin Folks and Facts page even at http://www.txfannin.org direct you back to the official TXFannin site at Rootsweb...but most of the pages are actually on the site and can be reached from this index: http://www.txfannin.org/book/folksnfacts/ffindex_a.html Hope this is a tiny bit less frustrating!
