    3. I'm having problems (once again) with my internet connection tonight... For starters, email the Bonham Library and ask them to look up an obituary for Annie Parks Rogers. Her death date was 5 Nov 2001. There is likely a married name for any children listed in the obit. Bonham Public Library 305 E. 5th St. Bonham, TX 75418 Phone: (903) 583-3128 Fax: (903) 583-8030 http://www.cobon.net/plgi.htm email: bonlib@cableone.net I'll see what else I might be able to dig up tomorrow when my high speed connection is back. Author: greenwic My grgr grandfather, Jacob Odom, died some time after 1870, is on 1870 census in Honey Grove with his son Aaron Odom, but Jacob is not found on 1880 census. I believe he died in Fannin Co., near Honey Grove. Mary Odom (Odam), Jacob's wife is on 1880 living with grndson,Jacob Culver, Hunt co, Wolf City, TX. I can not find grave for Mary either. Do you have any idea which cemetery I could look in, please give me the web site. Thanks for your help and time. Imo Greenwood Imo... I searched my Oakwood file (which is still not loaded to txfannin.org) but found not a single Odom or Odam. I even searched for Odem, Odum and Odim to be on the safe side. I searched Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City and found only one J. A. Odom but he/she was not born until 1879. There is another Odom in Greenwood Cemetery but she is an Elizabeth no your Jacob or Mary. I also searched the Lamar county Database http://theusgenweb.org/tx/lamar/cemetery/ and got 13 Odom hits but none for Jacob or Mary. Honey Grove is barely over the line into Fannin County from Lamar county so it is always a good idea to check Lamar for Honey Grove folks. Other cemeteries in the same part of the county as Honey Grove are Allens Chapel and Allens Point, Windom and McCraw's Chapel. Odoms are not turning up in those currently...but we are working on updating several of these. I've just finished one cemetery where lots of older stones showed up for the first time on the list....so there is always hope. There were also many small family cemeteries in the area. I'll keep my Odom Eyes peeled. Suzie Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Your best bet would be a tombstone or, perhaps a probate record. The Texas Death Records up through 1976, though imperfect, are online and can be accessed here: http://pilot.familysearch.org/recordsearch/start.html#start I recently completed walking and indexing the Oakwood Cemetery in Honey Grove and found no Brashears tombstones by any spelling. None are listed in the interment records (also not perfect) either. Oakwood is the primary cemetery in the Honey Grove area. Wish I had better news.... Clara Armstrong died in 1947. She was a teacher but I don't know if she ever taught school in the area. William Mason Armstrong, the son of Kavanaugh, had a large family, most of whom stayed in the area. His wife was also from Madison County,Kentucky. She was Charlotte Grinstead, they married 2 January 1871. Moving to Texas some years after his parents. Her family was connected to the early days of the well known Bybee Pottery. It is still a thriving business today. Another daughter was Elizabeth Armstrong who married George Carpenter there in Fannin County 5 January 1882. He was a cousin to her. I believe he was an attorney;don't think they had any children. Robert C. Moody of Richmond,Ky is writing a book about the Battle of Richmond, which took place in part, on the land of Kavanaugh Armstrong. The family home is still standing and is the site of many activities in late August. It was a beautiful home.
