Author: ronjohanna Surnames: HOLMES, KELLER Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.fannin/4336/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Based on my visit a couple of years ago, Nobility is just a widespot in the road and the sign doesn't even list population. My gf Floyd (F.S.)Holmes ran a country store in Nobility in the early 1900s. What happened to the buildings that constituted the community and where were they located? I found a deed (7 Dec. 1909) that F.S. Holmes purchased 1/10 acre lot with store, house and fixtures from his father-in-law (F.M. Keller). I think F.M. Keller, who bought the property in 1905 was proably helping his daughter and new son-in-law get established. The deed description says that the International Order of Odd Fellows and the Woodmen of the World had the second floor of the building.) I believe my gf was in Nobility through 1920 after which time he moved the family to Trenton. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 2. Suzie Henderson
    3. Hey list... Although it was reported that Mrs. William F. Stoehner (nee: Carnes) had married Mr. Stoehner in 1914, the marriage must NOT have occurred in Fannin County. I checked books S and T (1910 to 1917) and found only one Stoehner Groom and he was a George Stoehner who married Mrs. Clara Scheffler in 1914....no William Frederick Stoehners to be found. The search for her first name continues.... Suzie

    3. Hey Don... sorry, it took so long to get back to you. It's one of those days everyone seems to want a piece of me....not the least of which is a dog clawing at my leg because I am typing instead of scratching her butt... with one of my hands full time. I'm going to send you an invitation to share a folder. When you accept it, the folder will magically appear in your dropbox. I'm going to toss in some random obits for you to work on initially while I make some time to get the system organized. Stopping to scratch butts this evening is really slowing down progress....and she's back clawing at my leg... Typing in Notepad is fine...everything get converted to .txt before I code anyway. You can put them all into one big text file if you want or...if it's not too much trouble...separate files for each cemetery. If there's a typo in the original obit, add a [sic] after it. If there's no 'sic' I'll assume it is your typo and fix it if I spot it. I do want you to pay attention but I don't expect absolute perfection. I make typos too.
