Indian Creek Cemetery is at Nobility. I just photographed it but didn't see a stone for any Bridges. Don
Not as far as I know. Our family spelled the name with two Ns - although I have seen it in earlier days with one N. The was a Benjamin J. Wrenn related to my great-grandfather - although the exact kinship isn't proven. Did your James Benjamin come from Maury Co.,Tenn? Our Wrenns came from there just after the Civil War. Some of the women came before the men who had been in the war. It has only been in recent years that I have researched the Wrenn family. My grandfather died when I was 18 years old and more interested in having fun than looking for ancient ancestors. He didn't talk much about his early life apparently because it was so painful. His father died when he was 6, his mother when he was 10 and he sorta went from pillar to post thereafter. Gotta go find 'em... do you mean previously to ME or some previously online on the original site? I'm moving all to the original site...it just takes a while. If you've sent some to ME...before the matching cemetery was added to the new site, I need to go find them. I have over 10,000 emails in my box...Thank the Lord for Google search! Bring 'em on!!! If you have a scan of an obit, type it up and send both image and transcription to txfannin@gmail.com. If you don't have a scan but want to have a transcription posted, type it up and send it without the scan. If you have a closet full of obits, let me know and we'll discuss other methods of information exchange. James, you might contact both Cooper-Sorrels and Wise Funeral Homes here in Bonham and ask about anyone purchasing new stones for James and Fannie. Both sell stones and "out of towners" frequently order replacement stones through them rather than try to locate an independent monument dealer. Many, many thanks to Don Rubarts and Suzie Henderson for their work in providing the online Sunnyside Cemetery census. I can't think of a sufficient way to thank all the volunteers who have contributed to the Fannin County cemetery listings except to say "thank you." While it's been a long time since I lived in Texas, I do recognize the environment of bugs, snakes, tall grass, rain and HEAT encountered by volunteers walking those cemeteries. I want to thank you too. My great grandfather James M. Parkhill and his last wife Fannie have also a new headstone. I could never find them before. I'm interested in finding out more about John Rankin, my maternal great grandfather. As it turns out, he's buried in Burns Cemetery at Trenton. I have Mary Susan's obit but can find nothing on John (1856-1898). My grandmother, Susie Addie (Rankin) Hazel, was his youngest child, and she was born the same year he died. Many of the Hazals are buried in Pike Cemetery, but the Chadwells and Rankins are in Burns. By the way, the "Hazel" with "el" isn't a typo; of the 10 Hazal children, my grandfather, Lin Lock, and his brother, Robert, chose to spell their last name with the "el" rather than the "al" like the other Hazals. If you happen to find ANYTHING on John Rankin, I would be most grateful for the info. Best wishes, Rita Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I apologize to sending the note about the catalog photos out to one and all. I meant to sent myself a copy at txfannin@gmail.com and accidentally sent to the list. I didn't even realize it had happened until Jan wrote to say she enjoyed it. I'm glad someone did. But the List is not the place for such internet trappings and I wanted you all to know it was unintended. Suzie
