Thanks Ruth, I found her after Don figured out her name was BARKER not BAKER. Minor little detail that R in the name! You guys blow me away sometimes! Thanks Don! Never thought to look under BARKER.... but then I would not have looked for Gray J. either. Since we don't have the original obit, I'll change the name to Barker assuming it was a typo but add the supporting documentation to prove the added R. Have an obit for Mrs J. S. Baker: http://www.txfannin.org/obits.php?per_id=88432 ...and my pet peeve... no given name! __________________________ Leonard Graphic 27 Mar 1942 Mrs. J. S. Baker Mrs. J. S. Baker, 83, died at her home south of Randolph early Monday, after a lingering illness. Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 at the Randolph church with the Rev. R. L. Cates conducting the service. Burial was made in the Randolph cemetery with Gill Sudderth of Leonard in charge of the interment. Mrs. Baker was born in Georgia, Feb. 22, 1859. She married J. S. Baker in Mississippi and they have lived for over forty years at their present homestead. She was a member of the Baptist Church. They had only one child, a daughter, Mrs. John Baker, who passed away some time ago. __________________________ The obit came to me already transcribed, so I do not have the original article. This was transcribed many years ago and the original is long since gone. I am a bit concerned that the deceased only daughter also is a Mrs. Baker and there may have been transcription issues...but most of this woman's transcription work has been trustworthy. I'm not finding them any place although it says they lived in the same place for 40 years. I even tried the counties south of Fannin in case they were over the line somewhere. I just want to know her name so we can give her a proper burial! Suzie
