I'm searching for Eli Prickett, who married Jane Ventioner in Illinois in 1837. They then arrived in Fannin Co., TX (Honey Grove) around 1846. Eli had two brothers, Jacob and Madison. Jacob married Barbara Ramsey. It is believed Madison never married. Eli and Jane had several children, one named Isaac, who I believe was my great-great-grandfather; unknown name of his wife. I think he was killed in the Civil War in Illinois in 1866. Isaac was the father of Melissa Elizabeth Josephine Prickett, who married Thomas Willard in Ft. Worth TX around 1877. I believe Jane had a sister by the name of Martha Veal Ventioner. Melissa had a cousin by the name of Donnie Nance, who married James Ventioner. Any information anyone might have on these families would be appreciated.

There is usually a person who can look up obits IF you have a specific death date. So far there has been no charge for this service which I think is one of the best research tools around. Honey Grove is missing the years 1949 - 1961 and I can't remember why. I found all the library names, addresses, and numbers on the txgenweb fannin co site. Good luck! Mary in CA

Just FYI, I did check and my George Whitmire's father was Jonathan. However George's mother was Temperance Holt. BUT, George had a brother whose name was also Jonathan. I don't have that Jonathan's spouse. What are the dates on your Jonathan?
