    1. [TXFANNIN-L] Fannin Co, TX Families - Givin/Cooper/King 1860 & 1870
    2. Cooper, Curt W
    3. Hello, I'm researching the family enumerated in the 1860 Honey Grove, Fannin Co, TX census: John Givin/27/m/farmer/300/200/TN S.J. Givin/30/f/TN M. Hazel Givin/10/f/AR Wm C. Givin/8/m/AR Gid G. Givin/6/m/AR P.C. Cooper/13/m/TN James Givin/17/m/MO Mary F. Cooper/17/f/ AR I need a kind soul to provide an 1870 census lookup for this family. I'm almost positive that the 13 yr old P.C. Cooper is Peter Caswell Cooper and sister Mary F. Cooper are the same Coopers found in the 1850 Greene Co, AR Census. Additionally, I hoping to find the identity of S.J. Givin. I'm hoping her maiden name is Cooper. There is also a James Cooper in the 1860 Bonham, Fannin Co, TX census living with the King family as follows: Sandy King/45/m/farmer/1000/700/VA C. King/38/f/TN H. Ridgeway/19/f/IL James King(Rideway)?/3/m/TN James Cooper/73/m/NC Who is C. King? I'm hoping that her maiden name is also Cooper. I would love to get an 1870 census lookup of this family as well. If you are researching these families or have information I would be thrilled to hear from you. Thanks! Curt Cooper

    3. Thanks for your reply. I had been unable to find the family on the 1880 census also, this confirms that I didn't overlook them. I have been told that Dr. Franklin Talbott and his wife Caroline G. Dakin lived north of Monkstown. Guess this could have been in Lamar County or over in Indian Territory (OK). Their daughter Martha Belle (Mattie) married Charley Stanley Sides in Bonham on March 17, 1880. Franklin died Dec. 1892. Thanks again. 3. I have a query Susan, and hope it fits into the type that are included in the quarterly. The subject is Davis Brother's Mills. My great grandfather, Riley Cates, worked at one of the Davis Brother's Mills. As I know it there were three, at least one was near Whitewright. He probably started working there between 1885 and 1910 or so. His obituary mentioned he converted on of the mills from Ox driven to steam power. Does anyone have knowledge of the mills? David L.
