    1. RE: [TXFANNIN-L] Fairview Cemetery
    2. Barbara, if no one else responds let me know and I can call my cousin Martha Winkler Weaver wno can give me the number for the person who chairs the Fairview Cemetery Association.  I have many relatives buried in the Fairview Cemetery which is situated about 4-5 miles out of Ravenna and I'd guess about the same distance from Savoy.  In the 1920 census I found 6 or 7 households of my collateral families, including my grandparents and a g-grandmother living on the road that cuts off the Ravenna to Denison highway and goes to Savoy.  The Fairview Cemetery is situated just about 1/4 mile off the Ravenna to Denison highway on the road going towards Savoy.. There is a little controvery about who donated the land for the cemetery.  Some members of the Napoleon Hanes family claim their ancestors donated it.  I have read records where another family has been recognized has donating the land.  Since the Napoleon Hanes married Lau! ra Cook, granddaughrer of A. P. Hall, someday I'll get around to collecting some land records to see why the Napoleon Hanes desc. think their family once owned the land.  Ruth    --- On Wed 06/26, barbara crumby < barbara@hcnews.com > wrote:From: barbara crumby [mailto: barbara@hcnews.com]To: TXFANNIN-L@rootsweb.comDate: Wed 06/26Subject: [TXFANNIN-L] Fairview CemeteryI found the names in the published listing - "Cemetery Inscriptions of Northern Fannin County, Texas Vol. 1" compiled by Sammy C. 3. > Can anyone tell me if a person is in prison during a census year will they > be counted on that county's census? Usually, yes. If they are there the day the census is taken. They can in theory be double enumerated with their family who considers their residence to be at home, or they can slip through by getting out of jail in the period between the "official start date" of the census (say June 1) and the date the census is actually taken (say June 15). Unless the records were consulted to include all those released between June 1-15, the usual practice would be to do a current head count (and include someone who was imprisoned on June 2, say). What I find interesting is that often the wardens, administrators etc are listed as residents of the prison. Sometimes there is a guard, for example, listed as married and living at the prison -- but no spouse listed. Where was the spouse living, and did they ever get to see her? --Amy
