    3. Thanks so much for looking and the Clyde Stevens with a wife named Vada is my grandparents and I have them in 1910 and 1920 and 1930 but they must not be here in 1900. They all came from Alabama so I'll have to check there but thanks for doing the extra leg work. 2. Linda Kent
    3. Hi: Sorry it's taken me so long to answer but there's always stuff going on around here. I believe the information about Thomas and Rachel Hinton I got from LDS and also Thomas is the only one that had a little girl in that age group to fit Sarah. I also have connected to that same line a John Hinton that married a Snow relative of mine who would be the sister to Calvin Cooper's wife Lecy Snow. I have all the Cooper side .... thanks. I'm working right now on the Hinton's and Jasper's and it's overwhelming. Yes I've been to Porter Cemetery and have pics of the graves but I'm sure not as many as you have because I was there several years ago and had to tread through much tall grass and lots of poison ivy and we also had to cut the weeds and branches away from Harvey and Sarah's gravesite. I always wanted to take more time in Bonham and look for a death certificate or obit for Sarah so I could see what she died of and verify her parents names. I have the Pulaski Co KY 1850 Census Book and marriage book from 1799-1850 so I will be glad to share with you all the information I get on the Hinton's and Jasper's since we are definitely cousins. I would love to have yourside of the family for Louise to you and if you'd like I will send you Calvin and Lecy to me? Also I have a picture of Lecy Snow Cooper and her daughter Minnie Cooper Manry but nothing of Calvin Cooper or any from his side but understand he was a tall man with black hair and blue eyes. Let's keep in touch and I'll answer you further at your home email address. 3. actually its in Fannin , the county line signs are on the corners of the cemetery. About 3/4ths of the town of Whitewright is in Grayson and the East part in Fannin. I will try to get out there to take the pictures but need to locate my digital camera and make sure it is still working. By the way there are missing stones aplenty out there , besides the obvious wooden ones are now all gone. I was out there when they broke it and threw it in the trash! In the 1970's during those weird years when freaks were stealing copper wire out of house wiring for money, they tore down a dozen or so pure copper tombstones from Oakhill. I can't imagine who would have bought that kind of thing much less the idiots who were theives. The main reason some are missing from the southern edge of the old part of the cemetery is that in 1919 a tornado danced on the edge of the cemetery and took quite a few or smashed them. 3. David, the top of the census page says it's an International Order of Oddfellows Home. There are minors of both genders there, and on just that page 1 of 8, the ages ranged down to 2, so it was probably an orphanage. "Guardian" at that time in Texas probably meant the person who had the legal capacity to make decisions for a minor instead of the parents. The minor didn't necessarily live in the Guardian's household. Good luck in your search.

    3. I wrote an earlier e-mail asking for help to locate a Burks family. I found the children on the 1930 census in Navarro County. They were listed as "ward" as were all entries on that page. Being listed as a "ward' on a census means what? Were they homeless? My first message stated they were placed in the guardianship of my uncle, Robert Cates in Fannin County, August 1924. Is there a mailing list for Navarro County?
