Y. Miller posted concerning the Savage Family, but the tag line included Cummins. This is one of my lines. My dad gave me a copy of the referral letter for Lydia Green Oliver Cummins when she left the United Baptist Church of Jesus Christ at Eddy Creek in Caldwell Co. Ky in 1860. She died in Fannin Co. TX in 1902. The letter was signed by her uncle Hezekiah Oliver who was the church clerk. I also have a copy of a school tax receipt for E. W. (Elijah Washington) Cummins who was born 25 Aug. 1824 married 19 Jul 1842 in Caldwell Co. Ky. I do not have his death date or place. Their children that I have are Mary Lucinda Cummins b. 1849 James A Cummins b. 1844 Sophia E Cummins b. 1846 George Cummins b. 1847 Sarah G Cummin b. 11 Jun 1856 Mary Lucinda married Francis Newton Ramey who died 15 Nov 1930. Their children were Minnie Mae Ramey, Elijah, and James (Jim) Ramey. Would like more information on this family. Connie Bellows Moulder

Samuel was born in 1876 he married Sarah Mayes, daughter of Jesse Mayes ans Jane Mills. Sarah married Housen Ransom in her early 20's. Housin and Sarah had three children Flora, Fannie, and Leo. When Housin died she married Samuel A. Allen who became a preacher, I am told by the family tham there is an AME Church named after Rev. Allen. Sarah and Samuel had three children Marggie, Roberta and Samuel T., The family moved to Dension, Texas in the early 40's or 50's. Sarah's daughter Fannie married Elex Ganies who was also from the same area. Anyone with any information on this family please let me know.
For those that do not have the Cherokee Headquarters address, here it is. Armond Beaty http://www.cherokee.org/
Dear Deb and Jan, I need to corrct something. The Cherokee Nation is no where near Randlett. The Cherokee Nation is the Northeastern section of Oklahoma. Randlett is over 250 miles Southwest of Tahlequah -- the capital of the Cherokee Nation. If you need to get information from them, you can write their headquarters at the Talking Leaves Complex in Tahlequah. Hi Deb, I don't have any specific information about your grandparents but there is a Cherokee Nation in Randlett, Oklahoma which is just north of Wichita Falls, Tx. You might try to contact them about their records and see if they can help you. Mona, I don't know if this will help you, but there is a cemetery named "Allens Point Cemetery". I have been there several years ago and there is a church or school next to it. I can't remember which one, it has been awhile since I was there. I think it is about 5 miles north of Honeygrove. Maybe someone else that lives there can tell you. The reason I know, I have great grandparents buried there, but there are no headstones, just rocks. No one seems to know who is buried where.
