    1. [TXFANNIN] Re. Pevelers and Mullins
    2. I'm interested in making contact and exchanging research with other descendents of my husband's Peveler and Mullins family, including 3G-grandfather, David Peveler, who migrated from KY > MO > Fannin County, TX, in 1836 > Palo Pinto County > Hood County. David's older daughter, Lucinda, married Ed S. Terrell ca. 1848. My husband is descended from Ed and Lucinda's oldest daughter, Nanny, born 1848 in Honey Grove, Fannin County, who married Thomas Patrick Mullins, son of Morgan Mullins (below). Great-grandfather, Morgan Mullins (b. 1800; d. 1886), who migrated from KY > Marion County, TN (listed in the 1836 tax list) > Madison County, MO (1840 Census) > Fannin County, TX (1850 Census) > Palo Pinto County (1860 Census) > Hill County. (Morgan was a Methodist Episcopal circuit riding preacher who, unfortunately, wasn't formally ordained, i.e., he "felt the call." Therefore, there are no records of him in the Methodist Archives.) Author: pdsain Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.fannin/4147.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am not related, however, happen to descend from a line of Jones' myself who were from Mississippi and came to Texas, settling in Franklin/Hopkins counties about 1915. Texas genealogy and state map showing where counties are on following link. Milam county formed 1836 from Old Mexican Municpality, county seat is Cameron, surrounding counties are Falls to the north, Robertson to the east, Bell to the northwest, Williamson to the southwest, Lee, Burleson connect to Milam on the southeast border. General vacinity northeast of Travis county, none of which are close to Fannin county. The Jesse M Jones' family were in Milam county in 1860 census coming from Panola county, MS. http://www.rootsweb.com/~txgenweb/ William L Beard/Baird and Laura Jones both born about 1858 in Texas, first marriage for both around 1896 and no children. Marriage information written on wrong line and is wrong information, they married after the 1900 census. Jesse M Jones, father in law of Wm L Baird, born around 1820 in Tennessee, his father VA, mother USA. He was also the uncle of Wm L Baird according to the 1900 census and 1880 census. Baird children in Jesse's household listed as nephews, Wm L was not listed in 1880 but his brothers were. Baird/Beard children also in Jesse's household in the 1870 record. Nora Jones born around 1892 TX niece says her mother and father were from Texas. She would be grand daughter and maybe great grand dtr of Jesse M Jones and Laura's niece or great niece and Williams niece in law. Cyntha/Cynthia Laura Jones had two older brothers born in MS William about 1845 and James L 1847. I did not find William in the 1880 census but James was still in Jesse's household in 1880. I did not find either of them in the 1900 record. William Jones could have married in early 1870's had children and died before 1880 and Nora possibly a grand child of William Jones as her parents were both born in Texas ? This is speculation on my part. Laura Baird is in San Antonio in 1920 record as a widow, parents born TN, living with a George M Ryan family. Her brother Jesse Jones born abt 1862/63 is still in Milam in 1920, appears he never married. Laura is listed in San Antonio in 1930 showing she owned her home 228 Hearne Ave. On the top of the 1910 census page it indicates the Jones' and Baird's living in unicorporated Rockdale City of Milam county. "The Handbook of Texas Online" ROCKDALE, TEXAS. Rockdale is at the intersections of U.S. Highway 79 and Farm roads 908 and 487, thirteen miles south of Cameron in southern Milam County. I find no death record in Milam county or any county for 1910 -1920 for Wm L Baird/Beard. Laura lived to her early 90's. Jesse M Jones died in 1911 at age appx 91. Name: J. M. Jones Death Date: Jul 1911 Death County: Milam Certificate: 16283 Name: Laura Jones Baird Death Date: 22 Feb 1951 Death County: Bexar Certificate: 5662 1900; Census Place: Cameron, Milam, Texas; Roll: T623 1657; Page: 18A; Enumeration District: 66.
