    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: barbdale Surnames: Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.fannin/626.629.724.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: Hi! I don't really have any info, but I have that Robert Wylie Trout, b. 1812 Georgia, married Elizabeth Caroline Johnson in 1847, and were the parents of James N. Trout, who m. Rachel Parsons, they were the parents of Walter Lee Trout. I have further info in my gen. files at home, but I am away, and just looking at what is accessible online in my rootsweb world connect gedcom. This Robert Wylie Trout was the son of James Trout (1785) who was the son of George Trout Jr (1755). James (1755) was the brother of Gideon Trout (1790), who was the father of Giles Trout (1813), Perry Green Trout (1815), Oliver Henderson (OH) Trout (1820)& Benjamin Franklin Trout (1823)... who are found in Fannin Co. The Robert Trout (1812) that James Benson (1835) and his wife Mary (Trout?) (1842) are living next door to in 1870 Fannin Co., is most assuredly Robert Wylie Trout (and the 1870 census has a lot more children than I have, but it does include James b. 1852, which i believe is the sam! e as the James who m. Rachel Parsons (above). Going back to 1860 Cherokee Co., Georgia, this family of Robert Trout (1812) does NOT have a daughter named Mary (b. 1842)... SO... Mary Trout Benson living next door to Robert Trout in 1870 Fannin Co., is probably NOT his daughter. I find your James Benson in 1880 Cooke Co., TX with wife Mary (b. 1859 tx) & 3 children, Alice (1871), Ed (1873) & Robert (1875). In this census, James Benson is listed as 33 years old (b. 1847), and the on in 1870 census, the James Benson next door to Robert Trout, is listed as b. 1835.... I find your James Benson again in 1900 Cooke Co., TX, and it looks like his birthdate is 1844. This discrepancy in ages doesn't prove a thing, as you can't count on them being even CLOSE! My great grandmother Iva May Benson had notes that list a Mary Trout as the first wife of James M. Benson. They had three children (Alice, Ed, and Robert Marion), and she died in childbirth ca. 1878. She lists as Mary's birthplace "Marysville, TX," though this may be incorrect. Marysville would have been in Cooke County. I see a James Benson married to Mary in Fannin County census of 1870 next door to Robert Trout. Have you run across my James Benson or Mary Trout in your research? 3. Austin, when I saw your message below, I thought I had your Jesse. My Great Grandmother was Emma Cooper and her father was Thomas Cooper. He had a son named Jessie Cooper, born May of 1880 in Texas. That information is from the 1900 Washita County, Oklahoma census. The 1870 census has Thomas with a wife named Jane and they lived in Bates County, Missouri. The 1880 census has him in Cooke County, Texas and the name of his wife looks like Margarett. Emma Cooper married my Great Grandfather John Lewis Brian in Lamar County and they lived in Fannin County. Thomas Cooper's father was also Thomas Cooper and had a wife named Kisiah. 1. [TXFANNIN] Are there any Fannin County "Lynch" families who remember?....
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: Lynchking Surnames: Lynch Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.fannin/4156/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I'm diligently searching for the parents/siblings/family stories of my great grandfather, Luther Dawson "Doss" Lynch, b. 1885, and his brother, John Henry Lynch, b. 1888 in Fannin County, Texas. "Doss" and his brother went to Oklahoma when they were young boys, becoming boarders with Retta and William Kilmer in 1900. Was Retta perhaps their older sister? Doss married Belle W. Barker in 1905. John married Annie Ridgeway in 1907. I have census info for them both from 1900 through 1930, along with WWI applications. I need their early history, especially family members' names. Also, the family never knew how or where Doss Lynch died. A family legend is that, after the early death of his wife, he traveled or moved back to East Texas where he died when his automobile hit a deer and it smashed into his windshield. This would probably have been in the late 1940's. Does any of this jog your memory? My father is aging, losing his sight, and has become desperate to know about his family. We would appreciate very much any help you can give. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 1. Re: [TXFANNIN] the old medical & Surgical Hospital
    2. Ron Turner
    3. According to "A History of Fannin County", by Floy Crandall Hodge, published in 1966 by Pioneer Publishers, Hereford, Texas: "The Medical and Surgical Clinic was opened in 1946 on West Fifth Street. The hospital has a capacity of 33 patients. Doctors include L. C. Biggers, Joe Stevens, E. C. Williams, Walters Sisk and Lewis Morgan." I found this on the Internet: In 1946, the building housed the Medical and Surgical Clinic and Hospital. In 1961, Dr. Walter Sisk began his practice there, joined later by his son Dr. Dana Sisk. They operated the M & S clinic until in 1996, Texoma HealthCare System acquired the facility and its practice, as the TexomaCare Multi-Specialty Clinic. The Creative Arts Center occupies a remodeled 1946 building near historic downtown Bonham, donated to the Foundation by Texoma HealthCare Systems, Inc., of Denison. This major gift consisted of the 200 West Fifth Street building and property formerly occupied by the TexomaCare Clinic, made available after the clinic moved to its new Bonham facility on Highway 121.
