Here are the facts: * Born about 1852 to Patrick R. and Sarah Hiner Warren near Palo Alto, Chickasaw County, Mississippi (Now Clay Co.). Brothers were John C. Warren (b. 1850) and Lester Warren (b. abt. 1853). * Orphaned in 1853. Rhoda and brothers raised by grandfather, John Hiner, until his death in 1857. Then raised by by Rhody's mother's brother-in-law, Ira W. McBee, until at least 1868. * Ira McBee moves to Petty and Roxton, Lamar County, Texas, between 1865 and 1870. Rhody's older brother John, age abt. 16, also makes the move to Texas. Likely the younger Rhody did as well, but no trace anywhere in census, marriage records, etc. Did Rhody move to Lamar County, Texas with her guardian or stay in Mississippi to marry. Since her home is in very close proximity to Fannin Co., did she marry there? Any insight to dent this brick wall greatly appreciated! Many thanks. It looks like you hit the mother lode. This is a wealth of information. Naturally, I will do more verifying, but what you have given to me seems to fit. The part about Bud Nolen being a gambler and a prisoner fits with some stories that my father used to tell me about the family. It seems that Bud's father was the only person that Bud feared. I had some hint that Thomas Nolen was in law enforcment and that he was a marshall. Whether he was a town marshall or a U.S. marshall I did not know. The short version is Thomas brought Bud in under arrest and jailed him. The other info in your posting fills in some holes I had about the other members of the family including two other children that Louisa Nolen had that I did not know about. If you hear of anyone that is researching this branch I have other info on Thomas Nolen's sibblings. Please send them my way. Thomas Nolen's relation to me is he is my great-grand uncle. Again many thanks and I hope to return the favor someday. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
