    3. These are my only YORK surnames so far in the Oakwood Cemetery. I still have one more of the older sections to go. We'll see. Is this your man?? Page 5; York, William M (26); Y; Nineteenth Cavalry (Burford's Regiment); Compiled Service Records of Confederate Soldiers Who Served in Organizations from the State of Texas<http://www.footnote.com/viewer.php?image=8484549&query=york> There are 5 pages of his Confederate Service record online at http: www.footnote.com They are also posting [note; I didn't say "already posted"] the Texas Death certificates. [YES, I did say certificates and they are beautiful] from 1890 to 1976 but only 2% are already online. Your William YORK is not yet listed but keep checking back. Hope this helps. 3. According to the webpage: [There are pictures] http://www.rootsweb.com/~txfannin/ceme-bettes.html There is an active elected board who are responsible for the Bettes Cemetery. The cemetery inventory seems to have been taken (by Elizabeth Stephens) around 2001 but Susan Hawkins has posted additional information from obituaries as recently as 2006. I am researching the Williams, Audrey Bennett's family. Audrey's father, Charlie Williams, and my grandmother, Sudie Williams were brother and sister. Audrey passed away before I was able to visit with her about the family. I feel sure that Bea can tell me about the Williams if her memory is still good. I would appreciate her telephone number also. 3. George Bennett was my great uncle. His daughter, Beatrice, is still living - will be age 101 on Sept. 18. Her memory is better than mine. If you will send your email address, I will give you an address and a telephone number for her. Walter and wife are mentioned in the autobiography that Bea wrote several years ago. 1. [TXFANNIN] May family in Fannin around 1888
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: burcheden Surnames: May, Hubbard, Ross, Rathburn Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.fannin/4182/mb.ashx Message Board Post: I am trying to track down my great grandfather. My grandmother was born in Bonham in Jan 1888. Her name was Florence Edna May. I found a babtism record that listed her dad as David May. He is supposed to have died when she was just a baby from sun stroke. Florence's mother Laura Hubbard was a cousin of Henrietta May, the wife of Dr. Reynolds May of Wightwright. Harvilla Ross Hubbard and Elizabeth Ross Rathburn were sisters and the mothers of Laura and Henrietta. It seems resonable to assume that David was related to this line of the May family but I can't find any census reports that could be him. The David's that I can find in the area were married or lived later than my David. Laura was born in 1872 and I believe that David would have been close to her age. Can anyone be of any help. Thanks Karen Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. 3. Dear Karen: Don't know if this is a line for you or not - there is a grave marker in the Kentucky Town Cemetery for David W. Ray b. Jan 12, 1816 d Dec 9, 1882. He was the son of J. S. & L. Ray. If you can fit him into your line let me know - I have an 8X10 black & white photo of the marker that I took when I was taking a photography class probably 30 years ago. I will send it to you if you find he is in your line. 1. [TXFANNIN] Moody Family
    2. Margaret Moffitt
    3. I am interested in the Moody family that lived in the Ivanhoe area from 1870 on. William Moody and Cynthia Wyatt Ferguson were married in Decatur Co. TN in 1852. They were on the 1860 census in Upshur Co and then on to Fannin Co. They supposedly died in 1900 and 1904 and are buried in the Ivanhoe area. Any help out there? Margaret
