    3. To anyone who finds this info in the future... I gave Charlie the wrong citation for the census records for Robert BLANKENSHIP [son of John]. He is NOT the Robert L. in Lamar County, TX. in 1910 and 1920 He IS the Robert W. in Hunt County, TX in 1910 BLANKENSHIP, ROBERT W (1910 U.S. Census) TEXAS , HUNT, 5 J-PCT Age: 41, Male, Race: WHITE, Born: TN Series: T624 Roll: 1566 Page: 97 I have not found him in Hunt, Fannin or Lamar Counties in 1920 although he is buried in Fannin County with a recorded death date of 1928. 3. Margaret, you might try checking with the two largest funeral homes in the area. These two are in Bonham but that seems to be the closest to the Ivanhoe area. If the graves are unmarked or unreadable at this time, a burial record may be your only hope. Wise was established in 1908 and Cooper-Sorrels in 1938 but often times, funeral homes have the interment records of cemeteries or previous burial services. Also, the Texas Death Certificates which are slowly going online at footnote.com include a line for entering the location of interment. They are not always completed but are in many cases. It is highly likely that the specific certificates are NOT posted yet but both are in the time period that is being posted now. You might check. Searching is free and they have a "full access" free week so you can try the site out if you find something. 3. John, Sorry I was not clear. I DID find the certificate. There was just NO NAME on it. I only got the surname because the father's name was listed. Footnote is using the Microfilm [from the LDS... with their cooperation] to scan and post the Death Certificate images of the files located in Austin. This will cover the years 1890 to 1976 although the years prior to 1903 are spotty in reality. Only about 2% are actually online as yet. Luckily, this one was. 3. No I did not find William in the Texas death records on ancestry.com either. That's one thing that leads me to believe he died soon after 1900 and may not even have a death certificate. Might possibly have an obit I suppose. I think I'll go ahead and sign up for footnote. Alabama and Texas are the states I mostly need info on and looks like they're right on target with those. 3. My William is William A. York. I have copies of his pension application somewhere that I got from Texas couple years ago. He served the CSA in Alabama and moved to Texas after the war. He was in Hill County Tx in 1880 and Fannin Co TX in 1900. At the time of his pension application in 1899 he was pretty much disabled I think. 3. I wish it were. That much information would be wonderful. Unfortunately it isn't the right one. The one I'm in search of is William A. York, born in 1836 in Alabama (or Georgia.) I found a William J. York in an index for Ladonia Cemetery but his name wasn't included in the actual online transcription for that cemetery so there were no dates to go by. I thought the "J" could have possibly been an "A" if tombstone was very old and hard to read but of course I don't even know if there was a tombstone or where the information came from. Thank you for going to all that trouble for me. If I could get that much info on my William A. York, I might take a few days off from genealogy. Then again maybe it would spur me on to further searching. 3. The death certificates ARE going online at Footnote http://www.footnote.com If you choose "view all databases" and then click on page 4 that's where you will find them. You can search for free and then wait and pay your money when they actually have his posted but I heard today that they are struggling to keep their heads up while they get this site started. It is going to be tooooooo wonderful. I went ahead and signed up to give them my vote. William is not yet in the Death Records as of this evening. 3. Hi Suzie, thank you so much for your volunteering to walk the Oakwood Cemetery. If you come across anything on a William York I would appreciate if you could let me know. I haven't found anything on him on any of the other online transcriptions. I know he was in Fannin County in 1900 due to census and his CSA pension application and believe he must have died shortly after that as I cannot find anything in the Texas death index for him or anywhere else after 1900. Thank you so much. Carol ----- Original Message ----- From: "Suzie Henderson" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, September 11, 2007 8:17 PM Subject: Re: [TXFANNIN] obit of G.
