He is buried at the Carolina Cemetary, an unmarked grave along with his first wife, Lula V. nee ARP HINDS. He married #2 Flora Elizabeth nee Moody HINDS. His parents were John Barton HINDS and Mary Harrison HERNDON. He and Lula had 3 children- Dudley Ennis K. William Shankle Thomas and Flora had 5 children- Mercer Homer Howard Wilford Wiley Leonard Alton and a baby boy that died and was not named.
