ELLIS, ROBERTS et al Joshua Thomas & Georgeann (ROBERTS) ELLIS and six children moved to TX in the mid 1890s. The youngest child, Claud D, was born in TX. Ellis children: Edward Marshall (1885-1947) married Noba Imo JOHNSTON Tom (1886-1965) married Edna ?(1888-1953) Leonard Lee (1857-1970) married 1st Lida TRANTHAM 2nd Emma ? Ora Mae (1888-1984) married 1st John INGRAM, 2nd ? JOHNSTON, 3rd Martin F. MURPHY George Harl (1890-1867) married 1st Effie LOY, 2nd Bertie LEA (1900-1961) Artie Delena (1883-1979) married William H COHEN (1892-1965) Claud Duval (1901- 1977) married Della BAUMAN The 1900 Census indicates Tom & Georgeann Ellis were residing in Blevins as was Georgeann's mother and two of her brothers. Georgeann's father reportedly died 3 May 1900, possibly of his own hand, in OK. His body was shipped to Blevins and is buried there in an unmarked grave. Family history reports Georgeann is also buried in Blevins but thus far there is no documentation and their graves have not been positively identified. The search for documentation continues. Ben H (1842-1900) and Mathilda (1848-1929) (GRIFFIN) ROBERTS married 26 Jul 1864 in Galtin, Sumner County,TN. Their children were born in TN, IL, KY, & AR. Their children: Georgeann (1865-1901) married Joshua Thomas ELLIS (1844-1914) Sarah E "Betty" (1867-?) married John W. JONES Martin B. (1869-) married Mrs Mary Bla?? Richard Franklin (1871-1951) married Margaret Ellis MCLENDON (1885-1939) Margaret Alice Aveline Armaesia Valentine (1873-1917) married Jim H HAY (1860-1914) William Henry J. (1875-1938) married Susie LOFTIS 1878-1928) Walter Lee (1880-1962) married 1st Minnie Florence BLAGG (1886-1907) 2nd Zola LAY (1882-1965) Martha Hattie (1883-1993) married (name undocumented) Claude Dubvalle (1884-1959) married Edith Millie JOHNSON (1884-1960) Willie Roberts remained in AR and was married to a 2nd person who is unidentified at this time. Betty & her husband were in TX but moved to MO and then to AR. Some undocumented information exist on their family. Richard Franklin died in Falls County and may be buried at Powers Chapel. Martin, I believe still has some descendants residing near Waco. Mary Alice...and Jim Hay both died in Falls County and are reportedly buried at Powers Chapel, Rosebud. Walter, Claud, and their mother, Mathilda, moved to Collin County and are buried there. Hope others are researching these folks and we can exchange information.
