My mother believes he was born in Marlin, Tx. and had to quit school at age 7 to work in the fields. His first wife was Susie Mae Chambers and I'm unsure where they met/married. He eventually relocated to North Texas. His father's name was Levi Van Cleave (I believe the middle name is also Hilliard) and the only info I have on his mother is a last name of McIntosh. Known siblings were Idelle, Raymond, and Ola Mae. If you know of this family or any of their extended relatives, I would love to hear from you!
