Barton, b December 11, 1854 in Falls County, Texas, d March 8, 1881 — was the only heir of Sheriff John M. Barton and his wife, Elizabeth (Duty) Barton — his two brothers, Robert and George Barton having died before their parents’ estates were settled. Henry F. did eventually receive one-third of the Barton Brothers Ranch, established by his father, John M., and James and David G. Barton. In 1877, Henry F. married Easter Miers, b 1859, d 1925 — a daughter of John C. Miers (a Civil War veteran) and his wife, Louisa, and that had two sons before Henry died: Loyd Barton, b March 31, 1878, d May 26, 1919— married Anna Saxon, b November 7, 1880, d March 9, 1952, and had Loyd Barton, Jr., and Elmer Barton. Henry Thomas Barton, b February 21, 1881, d Au-gust 6, 1948 in Falls County — married Myrtle Hick-man, b September 15, 1883, d February 8, 1972. Easter (Miers) Barton married second to David John Barton — son of Isaac M. Barton; and married third to Floyd Smith. When she died, she was buried by Henry F. Barton — her first husband — in Calvary Cemetery in Marlin, Falls County, Texas.
