In the 1880 census for Falls County, I found H.W. Black listed living "next" to my great, great grandfather's farm (Lott Leguin Godfrey). Apparently he is the second husband of my maternal great, great grandmother, N. Elizabeth Byrd Lewis Black. H.W. Black is listed as a school teacher at 63 years of age. Is there any record of teachers at work in the county at this time? Thanks for your help.
