Surnames: Brewer and Kirkley Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/0hB.2ACE/1444 Message Board Post: Searching for living descendants of Esther Susanna Brewer Reynolds, born 1859 in South Carolina. Her father is Daniel W. Brewer and her mother is Margaret (Maggie) E. Kirkley, both of South Carolina, The family moved to Falls County, Texas (Marlin) between 1861 and 1866. Esther died in San Mateo, California March 14, 1956. I'm hopeful for connection to James E. Kirkley, Margaret E. Kirkley Brewer's brother and Esther's uncle, who also resided in Marlin at 212 Ward St. in 1900 and 445 Ward St. in 1910.

    3. Looking for living descendants of Edward McCullough born 15 April 1834 in Hampshire Co. VA/WV. He died 26 June 1902 Mooreville, Falls Co., TX. He was my great grandfather. My grandmother was his child by his first wife, Sophia Irvin. She died 1834 before my grandmother was a year old. His second wife was a Fiser. Have some of the McCullough descendants but trying to locate someone who may help find when the first John McCullough came to the states from Ireland. It wouild be after 1803 because John, Jr. was born in Ireland too. This is according to a McCullough chart in my possession. Elizabeth W. Whitten

    3. Dear Peggy, Thank you. Yes, my research for this family is based on this information as well as a family chart of the McCullough family given to my mother many years ago. Also, his son Tom L. McCullough published a booklett, "Memories of the Hills of Home and Countryside". It states in the fly leaf that my copy is #2 of 376. "Recorded for My Son Orgain and My Daughters Mrs. Kate McCullough Bowdry and Mrs. Drusilla McCullough Strother. A Story of old Mooreville Community in Falls County, Texas by Tom L. McCullough 1939 Dallas, Texas" I had hopes of going to Ireland to see the area in which they lived. However, I have not been able to locate them on any passenger lists or found any living descendants of the family in recent years. My grandmother was the daughter of Edward McCullough by his first wife who died when she was less than a year old. Before 1980 I was able to contact several grandchildren in Texas before I published a book "Livingston Lines". This book includes a chapter on the McCullough family and is in the Waco library. Last year I found the John McCullough family listed in the 1850 census. However, their name was spelled McCulley. I knew it was the correct family due to the age of the Edward and the name of younger children. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.
