Her first job was teaching school in Falls County, Texas for three years while working on her Bachelor Degree from Mary Hardin Baylor. She taught 1st and 2nd grade in a rural school that employeed four teachers. If anyone has any information about the schools of Falls County during the 1930's, I would be very interested in seeing it. I am beginning a teaching career this year and just found this information about my grandmother from a biography she wrote about her family in a book for Hockley County. Thank you! Donna

I need the first name of the constable, his date of death, any circumstances surrounding the death, his grave site, disposition on LEDBETTER, and any family information.
This was George W. Batey's wife, married in 1881. Trying to locate relatives on her side. She died in 1909 in Falls County, Texas. She was known as Katherine/Catherine Stephens/Stevens Batey. But on her marriage license her name was Cappie, on her death certificate her name was Cathel. After George died in 1904/05, don't know what county he died in, he is buried in Van Zandt County, she married a Mr. Troup in Falls County. She married George W in Smith County Texas and had several children born in Van Zandt County Texas. Who were her parents or siblings. Are they in the census? She should be in the 1870 or 1880 census. I found George and Capy with children in Falls county in the 1900 census. Thank you very much, Beverly
