Hi Lena. John Geter Baker b. Jul 1842 in AL. and his infant son, Charles arrived in Falls Co. TX with the Charles Webb Kinard family. They are listed together on the 1870 census. I haven't made a clear Baker connection to the Kinard family, at this time, except he could have been married to Sarah F. or Mary E., older daughters of Charles W. and Elizabeth P. Hill Kinard. John Geter married Johanna Kinard, (3rd daughter of Charles and Elizabeth's) on 13 Sep 1871 in Falls Co. Besides Charles, they had seven children together: William Abner b. Jun 1873 (my husband's grandfather-m. Annie Judidiah Woodall); Minerva b. @1877; Pearl b.@1878; Ida A. b.Sep 1880 (m. Christopher Columbus McCollum); Mary b. Nov 1884; Frank John b. Dec 1886 (m. Grace M. Davis and Lillie Belle? )and Alma b. Oct 1893 (m. Mitty Baker of Nacogdoches Co. TX.) One of the other Baker girls married Mitty Baker's brother, according to my husband's dad. William Abner is the only one that I have any information on. About the only thing I know about the Kinards, I got at Ancestry. com. Please let me hear from you about your Baker connection. I am looking for the children of Frank John BAKER b. 21 Dec 1886, Falls Co. and d. 28 Sep 1962 in Falls Co. His children were: Bernard Frank b. 1910; Millard Osborn b. @ 1912; Bruce Arnold b. 1915 and Doris b. @ 1920. Doris married Thomas C. DOWNES. I am, also, looking for the children of Francis (Frank) Marion WOODALL b. 10 Aug 1858 in Greene Co. AL and d. 02 Apr 1926 in Falls Co. He and Cinderella Dixie SHEPPARD had 14 children: Wyley C., Annie Judidiah (m. Baker), Frankie Cinderella (m. Parsons), George W., Lizora, Jessie, Sidney S., Curtis S. Bella (Bessie) (Jones), Minnie (Mozelle)(m. Frank), Marshall, Verneal, Rex and Ozell. I have absolutely no information on the SHEPPARDS. Charles Webb KINARD and Elizabeth Paulina HILL lived at Blue Ridge and are buried at the Bremond Cemetery. If there are any Kinard's still in Falls Co., I would love to hear from them. Dear List Members, It is time again for one of my information messages. First of all I want to thank each of you who go out of your way to follow the list rules. I belong to many lists in my research and truly feel you are the best list members out there. If you are enjoying this list and would like to know what other genealogical lists Rootsweb has for you, go to John Fuller's site located at http://www.rootsweb.com/~jfuller/gen_mail.html It is the best source for Genealogical mailing lists that I know of. If you would like to visit the archived messages for this list or any Rootsweb List you may go to http://archiver.rootsweb.com and type in the name of the list and from there you can search by date. There is a great Rootsweb site, Password Central, you can go to if you want to find out what Rootsweb lists you are a member of or need to unsubscribe from a list, just follow the instructions. http://passwordcentral.rootsweb.com/ To unsubscribe from any Rootsweb list send only the word UNSUBSCRIBE to XXXX-L-REQUEST@ROOTSWEB.COM Naturally exchange the XXXX with the name of the list and the L with a D if you are on the Digest List. I have very few rules on the lists I take care of; the main one is to treat your fellow members as you would like to be treated, also Roll Calls will be called by me, with a beginning date and an ending date. The posting of virus warnings, chain letters, political announcements, current events and test messages are NOT ALLOWED and will be grounds for removal. Consideration for exceptions, contact me, KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net Please remember that I am here, working behind the scenes. When an offending message is posted, just DELETE it. Know that I am most likely taking care of the problem personally with the person who posted the message. When you send your unhappiness to the list you just continue on the problem both for the members and for myself. If you are concerned that I have missed the message, you can send me a message at KathleenBurnett@earthlink.net. Would you like to see the growth in the United States between 1650 and 1983? This is a great visual. I have shared it before but I am sure we have many new members since then. http://www.ac.wwu.edu/~stephan/Animation/us.gif This is your list. I am only here to take care of it for you and to make sure it runs smoothly. If you have any ideas or suggestions, please feel free to send them to me. In the 1880 census for Falls County, I found H.W. Black listed living "next" to my great, great grandfather's farm (Lott Leguin Godfrey). Apparently he is the second husband of my maternal great, great grandmother, N. Elizabeth Byrd Lewis Black. H.W. Black is listed as a school teacher at 63 years of age. Is there any record of teachers at work in the county at this time? Thanks for your help. Actully I need help with the 1910 and the 1920. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!!!! I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Andrea monkees5@msn.com
Does anyone have an index for the 1920 census? I have tried everything and every way I know to locate J W (John Wesley) Monk on the 1910 census. J W was married in Falls co. in 1892-to Grace Carroll. He was living in Milam county TX on the 1900 census. His wife was supposedly dead by 1907. He has been found in and around Freestone county also. On his obit though it states that he was along time resident of the west Texas area. He was found in Hale county in 1926 and on the 1930 census for Lubbock co.. I cannot locate him from 1900-1926. He had 2 more children after the 1900 census. Their names are Mary Ann and Estelle. I found his girls in Hall county in 1930 with their husbands. Their last names were Robbins and Vice. The name Robbins was misspelled on the census Robins. I have tried looking under the girls names for the 1910 census too but with NO luck. I need a suggestion or some help if some one might have the index. I open to any ideas!!!!!!!!! I NEED HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Andrea monkees5@msn.com
