Let’s continue this year with: *Recognition of relatives lost during the past year. Please be ready to share names of anyone you know about—perhaps you’d like to bring a photo. *Announcements of births, marriages. And as always, please bring any family information you’d like to share, including pictures, news items, family traditions, family histories, family trees, etc. We have a renewed effort to get our family history into a book, so bring photo copies and copies of pictures you can actually give us, not to be returned if possible, to be used in the book. And Jody will have a copy machine available this year at the reunion for your convenience. If you know of anyone interested in attending the reunion, please extend to them a hearty welcome. Has anyone any information on Fulton.s Market in Mexia or Rosebud that was in operation in 1899? I have been searching for information on my FULTON line in Falls County. Although my Mother Ollie Irene Fulton was born in Limestone County in 1898 & the Fulton Family shows up in Robertson County Census in 1900 & 1920, at some point they lived in or near Rosebud where my Mother attended elementary school worked as a teen & where my Father visited her while stationed at Camp McArthur during WW1. Her siblings, with a couple of exceptions were all born in either Lott, Marlin, or Mexia in Falls County. My grandfather was STANFORD BURNEY FULTON & his wife EULA WOODS FULTON. He was said to have owned/operated a Cotton Gin in Falls County. He died at 49 in 1919 supposedly in Rosebud & is buried in Clarkson Cemetery in Milam County. Curious to find out if this was my line of FULTONS who owned the Fulton Market & any other information on the Fulton line in Falls County? Richard Harris
Judy, I don't know why, but the name of Francis Marion Woodall sounds so familiar. Would he be connected to any of the Woodalls in Morgan Co, AL or Iuka MS back in the 1800's? This is my Woodall family and I'm wondering if he might be connected. Some came to Central and West TX but I can't find that info at the moment. Can you tell me more about Francis so that I might see if he is connected to mine. I'm also looking for info on a female Frances Woodall who was in Jackson Co, AL in 1860. I'm looking for my Wilson ancestors and they connect to the Woodalls thru marriage. Hi, Judy, I have been browsing my Families of Falls County but can not find the Kinard name in it. I knew Laura Mae Kinard. She was from Blue Ridge - we lived in the same rooming house (Quincy Barnes) in Marlin in 1946. As a matter of fact, we shared the same apartment just before I married. Laura Mae married Hugh Childs - but I can't find Childs in the book either. I am sure she still lives in Marlin. A few years ago I had a letter from her - and can't put my hands on the letter right now but I can give you her mailing address when I locate it. Now to the Bakers. The Baker I am trying to find more about is William Bierman Baker. (His picture is on the McLennan County website - I am trying to have the little boy who is standing with him identified). I have been on this search for him for a long time. We have a copy of tintype of his mother, Dorothy Criswell Baker. (My husband's aunt had written on the tintype - "mother of Berryman Baker of Mart, Texas".) So, I had been looking for "Berryman" not Bierman - until Carol Couch sent me an obit from Mart paper. I have his daughter's name as Norma Mae Burchfield - have James Burchfield's obit too. I have William B. Baker's Certificate of Death - and it does give Josh Baker as his father but does not name the mother. I have been in contact with Wm. B. Baker's wife's descendant - also one of the Baker's in Mississippi. I am sure I have it wrong but just keep wanting more proof. Did you ever hear of the Wm. B. Baker family in Mart. He died in 1940s. I gather there are several Baker families in Mart - or were. This has been such a challenge I want to keep going with it until maybe someway sometime I can be in contact with his family and prove it for once and for all. Did you ever hear of this Baker family? Does any of this ring a bell with you? I can send you "Berryman" Baker's picture. He was an old man in the picture - but he would have been to have been the son of Dorothy Criswell Baker - sister to my husband's great-grandfather. (My husband is 83). Have you looked at the Families of Falls County posted on Falls Website for biographies on any of the families you have mentioned. If you see one and it is not yet typed up let me know and I will give you the data from the biography until you can read the whole thing. Did you ever hear of a Harper married a Baker. My brother-in-law's wife's sister married a Baker from Mart. Wanda Harper Criswell is deceased but it was her sister who married a Baker from Mart. Maybe we can pull some of this together. Nice to hear from you. Lena Stone Criswell Abuquerque, NM (but I grew up at Blevins, Texas and Glenn grew up at Marlin). GRC18LSC24@aol.com
Hello, I am answering your query because I am so interested in the Bakers from Mart, Texas. I would appreciate having you respond to me using my email address. Also, I knew a Kinard from Blue Ridge. Lena Stone Criswell
