Her date of birth is listed as April 9, 1819, and her date of death as February 16, 1880. The tombstone is broken and worn (at the area of the middle initial, and last name), but bears inscriptions 'Mother', and 'We loved her'. I have contacted Adams Funeral home (their records only go back to, around, 1935), and City Hall (they say that, due to a fire at the courthouse, their records do not go back to the 1800s)... I am, also, trying to contact local families (going back several generations, in Marlin or Falls County) with names that may include BIB..., BIP..., or BIR..., but have had no success. If anyone reading this, may know of someone whom could possibly identify (or be a descendant of) this woman, would you, please, e-mail me. *** This unknown Mary is impr! operly documented, in cemetery records, as Mary Gray Carter. Mary Gray Carter died in Vermont (or, possibly, in New Hampshire), in (approximately) 1845. *** I sincerely hope that this unknown Mary will be able to be properly identified/documented.

Dear Gil, I got the picture of Tom and as soon as my son has time will have him print out and take to the nursing home as there is a lady there over 100 that is relative sharp about the history of Moody. When I tried to print the picture came out the size of a pencil eraser. I have not run into this before so don't have notes to tell me what to do. I do noty know where you live but if not too far would like to suggest that displey your quilt at our Cotton Harvest Festival which is the last Saturday in September. This is a fundraiser for a community center. My wife will be the chairperson for a second year. This might shed some light on its age etc. if someone recognizes the names. There was a Mrs. High who lived in Moody when we came here about 30 years ago but none now. Glad you able to pick up some history of the area. On your #11 you mention a Thomas High, Moody. The Blackland book shows that a Tom High was a 5th child of James L. High and Mary Bishop High. who came to Moody about 1860. I would like it put on the Falls County web sight if you so choose so I could copy and put in my book. -----Original Message----- From: gc-gateway@rootsweb.com [mailto:gc-gateway@rootsweb.com]On Behalf Of bgall@chipshot.net Sent: Saturday, August 21, 2004 9:31 PM To: TXFALLS-L@rootsweb.com Subject: [TXFALLS] Photographs circa 1900, Falls County TX, will send to family members This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list.
