I have a copy of A Memorial and Biographical History of McLennan, Falls, Bell and Coryell Counties, Texas. Email me privately if you want a lookup. -- Peggy Duty 4001 N. 22nd Waco, TX 76708 Phone: 254-754-5119
I have a question as I'm a little confused. Is the Falls County Book that Joe Kery has offered to use for lookups the same as the one that Theresa uses for her Falls County look ups, the same one containing the histories of past Falls County families? If it is a different one, I would like to contact him about doing a lookup for me in his book. Thanks, Paula

Hello Joe, If your book lists persons in the early 1800s, would you be kind enough to look up Dr. Allensworth Adams? Thank you, I would appreciate it very much. Hello Joe Kery, I'm relatively new to this list. Would you please see if your Falls County book has any mention of a Mathias or Isabella ("Bella") Heenan who lived near Marlin in the early 1900's. Thank you. John Gill, Yonkers, N.Y.
Hi Jo, I have a book called Families of Falls County. I can do any look ups you like. Let me know. Joe Kery [email protected]

Posted on: Falls County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Falls/493 Surname: Norris ------------------------- Am looking for the book, History of Falls County, Texas. It was compiled by "Old Settlers and Veterans Association of Falls County, Texas." Editor was ROY EDDINS. Many people contributed information for this book: Mrs. Lillian Schiller St. Romain, Rev F. P. Goddard, Frank C. (Posh) Oltorf, A. W. Eddins, Mayor E. M. Dodson and others. I found the book in the Texas State Library. Because my grandfather died at home, 1 1/4 miles from Viesca, Falls County, Texas in 1905, I am MOST interested in getting a copy of the book. The first Viesca "disappeared" about 1852 and the second Viesca was a settlement near the present town of Cedar Springs, Texas. So, obviously, my grandfather, James Oliver Norris and my grandmother, Angelina Gray Gilliland Norris, must have lived in the settlement near Cedar Springs. Can anyone help me find this book?
Posted on: Falls County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Falls/492 Surname: NORRIS, SCARBOROUGH ------------------------- Hey, Lynna. Powers Chapel cemetery is located 8 miles from Rosebud, Falls County, Texas. To get there, take Interstate 77 south from Marlin to Rosebud. At Main Street in Rosebud (Main Street and County Road 413 are one and thesame street), turn RIGHT and go to the "Y" in the road. Veer to the right at the "Y" onto the dirt road and keep going right onto the blacktop which is still CR 413. Then go WEST onCR 413 for 7 miles tothe Wilderville grocery store on your right. There are 2 nonworking gas pumps in front of the store. The store looks abandoned, but, as ofOctober 1999, it was still in opertion. At the store, turn left onto FM 2027. You will immediately see a "Historical Marker" sign on the RIGHT side of the road. That marker is for Powers Chapel (the church, not the cemetery). The cemetery is on your right, directly across the street from the chapel which is on your left, about a mile from CR 413. Found info on my grandfather, James Oliver Norris, when he served in the Confererate Army. He is buried in Powers Chapel Cemetery. Have some other stuff for you, but, never got your mailing address. Jo
