Posted on: Falls County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Falls/577 Surname: SELF, CARAWAY, JAMES ------------------------- Hi Cyndy, Thanks for the information, I don't have any of the children for James Dixon SELF and am not sure if Markey H. SELF (married to Carylon CARAWAY) is James Dixon's brother and Sarah M. Self who married William CARAWAY is his sister. I am will try and find out more I am also looking to find out more about a Rev. John & Betty (SANDLINE) SELF. I wonder if he is a brother to Adam Moore Self (father of James Dixon SELF) According to a family story, Rev John & Betty SELF had three daughters that married into the Pleasant JAMES Family. Jonathan JAMES (Son of Pleasant JAMES) married in to the SELF family-according to Beatrice JAMES TUCKER who wrote a compilation of Biographical and Historical Sketches to the Antecedents and Descendants of Henry Monroe James, Sr., titled "The James Family". This work was compiled in 1984. She had written that three male members of the JAMES Family- married three female members of the SELF family, but only gave the name of Sara/Sarah. Jonathan married Sara/Sarah SELF the daughter of a Methodist Preacher/Circuit Rider, Rev. John & Betty (SANDLINE) SELF. This may have been in the 1870's unsure dates but have list of children and the birth dates of a couple of them and they were born in the 1870's and the location may be AL as the child born in 1872 was born in Cullman AL. While I am finding Connections to the Self family via my husband's Caraway Line, I am now finding it on his other side of the family indirectly, So any information is helpful. Thanks for posting., Sharon
Posted on: Falls County Queries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Falls/575 Surname: Caraway ------------------------- I would like to trace this connection. My uncle, Richard K. Caraway was married to my aunt, Alta Margie Stone. He is buried in the Stone plot in Hillcrest, Temple, Bell Co, TX. I believe he is from a family who had a printing business in Temple and don't know if there is any connection. However, the middle initial "K" and now that I find out it stands for Keel makes me think there is a connection. I would appreciate hearing from anyone about this. We were newly marrieds and they had the two girls. They were wonderful to us. I recall he loved to fish, hated to wear socks and was crazy about Eulalah. He worked for City of Marlin, she for Torbett Clinic as Medical Historian. His brother was J.E. "Peg" Powell, a Justice of Peace and quite a character on his own.

Checking Cyndi's List this morning, I found this under Supplies, Charts, Forms, Etc. It is a form to use when you wish to send a Family Group Sheet via email. I have not had time to try it out but thought some of you might find it interesting and perhaps useful. <http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Meadows/7970/vfgs.html> Have Fun! Jo Russell
