Hi All. My father S I Pond often talked of his uncle Isaac who ran off to Texas to be a Cowboy sometime before dad's birth 3 Apr 1896. Pointing out that this made him somewhat a childhood hero of his, even though grandpa Samuel did not get along with his brothers and did not keep in touch with the family. So all dad knew was uncle Isaac lived in Texas and that isn't a lot of help. Then one day my son pointed out that I should make some attempt at finding out about our family because I am the last of my generation.Now retired and with a computer I have filled in a lot of the gaps. I even have some on Isaac Newton POND. >From family notes, Bible, etc I find Isaac Newton b 8 Feb 1862, married Dana (or Danie) and died 27 Dec 1958. Her birth date is not given but her death is recorded as 26 Jan 1951. With their names is the note "Buried in Texas I imagine...where they lived." But then over the holidays I was told that Isaac N POND & Dana CLARK were married on 27 Jan 1889 in Erath cty Tx. That they had run a store of some kind while there and some of their issue may still live in the area. Though he thought that they were not now surnamed Pond. Others may be in Muskogee cty Ok but that is a guess. Any help on any of this will be greatly appreciated.
