Good morning, I'm trying to find more info on the HEAD family in Texas. James L/R/P/A HEAD was attached to the Confederate Cavalry in Texas in 1864-1865. The papers I have are for: James L HEAD Com Sgt, Co. B, Mann's Reg't Tex Cav (the above from the top of the form) Mann's (formerly Bradford's) Regiment Texas Cavalry was formed by the consolidation of Bradford's, Mann's and Hoxey's Batalions and Captain R. S. Pooles' Company Texas Cavalry, per S. O. No. 207, Hdqrd. Dist of Texas., N. Mex,. and Ariz., dated Juy 25, 1864. It was composed principally of former members of the Texas State Troopers. (the above from the bottom of the form) I am still try to "pin down" exactly which James HEAD is my relative. He is listed with so many different middle initials that I keep finding conflicting info. My James HEAD was married to Lucinda Rebecca KEITH whose father was Gabriel (George) KEITH. Lucinda and James were married 23 Dec 1858, Hunt co, Texas Any help would be greatly appreciated.
